Aerial imagery depicting ice buildup & breaking in Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, ME. The ice grows in extreme cold weather despite its salt-water state, & prevents lobster boats from being able to put to sea. That is where the “Ice Crusher” comes into play. The small, hard-framed craft will traverse the cove, zigzagging in and around Lobster & Tunafish Boats, breaking up ice shelfs as it goes. The remaining ice is effortlessly pushed aside as boats move in & out of the cove. This is another favorite subject of mine. The ice sheets from above create unique & captivating formations around the small boats, & reveal the debilitating abilities of the ice before it is broken, and the isolated nature of the crafts.
