At the Thunderstorm's Level
Timing is everything when attempting to capture a storm at altitude, especially when said storm is minutes from engulfing the air your drone occupies. I certainly took a risk here and was able to quickly capture three shots before I felt the first raindrop on my head-cue full speed to landing. My favorite subject matter is storms. Unfortunately in my neck of the woods true thunderstorms don't happen all too often, maybe three times a year...so when they appear, it's hard not to race full speed into one with the camera. This is my first and only capturing of a storm with a drone, and while the risk was great to the UAV itself, the situation was quite exhilarating.
