Aaron Ramsey has been practicing professional photography for the better part of 20 years, however he has been capturing photos for as long as he can remember. Ironically, Aaron never considered photography a passion to pursue from an educational standpoint, dabbling first in Architecture, Graphic Design, and 3D Animation before ever enrolling in his first formal photographic course. These artistic ventures took him to Roger Williams University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Wheaton College, taking pictures casually all the while.
It was not until 2004 when Aaron spent his 3rd year of college in Tours, France, and eventually Paris, where he commenced his first formal study in photography under the instruction of Philippe Vermès. For over a year Aaron honed his skills in a commercial studio as well as in an underground cave that doubled as a darkroom, developing 35mm black and white film for prints that revealed the eclectic personality of the streets of Paris. Upon return in the spring of 2005, it was clear his hobby had taken a more bound and determined path. Graduating from the New England Institute of Art in 2010, Aaron finally made his hobby official.
Aaron's work has been exhibited at South Station in Boston, MA, the New Hampshire Art Association in Portsmouth, NH, Gallery 303 in Brookline, MA, the Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit, ME, Wheaton College in Norton, MA, the Photographic Resource Center in Boston, MA, Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, ME, and numerous restaurants in Southern Maine.
